Garrett Marchant, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, isn’t your average fourteen year old kid. Garrett is a race car driver, an accomplished race car driver at that. The racing bug was already running through his blood before he was born. His grandfather used to race on dirt tracks in the 1970’s and to this day his father, Burney Marchant, runs in the Limited Late Model Series in North Carolina.
Many drivers try for years to accomplish some of the things that Garrett has accomplished in his short career behind the wheel. 2010 was Garrett’s first year behind the wheel and it brought many accomplishments with it. In only his fourth race Garrett brought the car home to victory lane. Out of his first 10 career starts, Garrett has brought home nine top fives and ten top tens. In his first start he came home second as well. He’s a face that is always seen up front and has many more years of success ahead of him.
Garrett’s ideal goals are to be in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series but realistically he thinks the ARCA Racing Series is a good fit for himself and even the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. There are some awesome people who help Garrett with his racing career and he would like to thank them all for their help. His grandfather, his father and Tom Elliott have all greatly impacted his career.

Hi I am Jessica Vejar. I am 17 and the Co-Host of For The Win. I am also a huge Jeff Gordon fan. I hope to become a racer myself very soon because racing is so fun and something I always loved.
Derek Robbie (Panelist) Derek is a 15 years old high school student from Bellingham, Massachusetts. He drives for DDR-Motorsports, his family owned #27 modified, in the Pro Four Modified of New England Series as part of their Limited division. Though short in years he has extensive racing experience, including several classes of quarter midgets, racing kart and mini sprints.
Starting at the age of 8, he coupled summers racing quarter midgets at Little T Speedway in Thompson, CT and Silver City Speedway in Meriden, CT., with racing karts indoors at Racing America in Foxboro, Ma and F1 Boston in Braintree, Ma. This was followed by racing on the dirt at Whipcity Speedway in Westfield, Ma. for the past 1-1/2 years in the 250/270 mini sprint classes.
This year Derek steps into a full size open wheel car similar to the ones he grew up around with aspirations of capturing Rookie of the Year, with new up- coming racing calandar dates . He is learning his craft at various tracks around New England racing with the Pro 4 Modifieds of New England. To go along with him gaining experience on the race track, this year Derek also won a scholarship to the Race101 Driver Development Program where he learns about chassis and engine dynamics, interviewing skills, self marketing. With his on track and classroom learning Derek hopes to become a complete driver who is respected both on the track and in the hearts of fans and sponsors.
